About H0 Journal

H0 Journal is the flagship publication of Neural Prosody, LLC. It is a fully open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the publication of psychological and behavioral science research that meets the highest standards of methodological rigor—including, and especially, research that yields null results.

The journal takes its name from the null hypothesis: the foundational statistical position that there is no effect, no difference, no relationship to be found. In contemporary psychology, null results are systematically underrepresented in the published literature. Studies that confirm hypotheses are published; studies that do not are filed away. The consequence is a scientific record that overstates the prevalence and consistency of effects—distorting theory, misleading practitioners, and undermining the credibility of the field.

H0 Journal exists to correct that imbalance. A null result, rigorously obtained and transparently reported, is a contribution to knowledge. We publish it accordingly, evaluating manuscripts on the quality of their design, the appropriateness of their methods, and the integrity of their reporting—not on whether their findings confirm a hypothesis.

Scope and Editorial Focus

H0 Journal publishes original scholarship across the full breadth of psychology and behavioral science. Our editorial focus is methodological quality and transparency of reporting. We are discipline-inclusive: submissions from clinical, experimental, developmental, social, cognitive, neuropsychological, and applied behavioral science traditions are equally welcome, provided they meet our standards for rigor.

We place particular emphasis on the following:

  • Studies with null, negative, or inconclusive findings that are methodologically sound

  • Pre-registered studies and Registered Reports, in which hypotheses and analytical plans are documented prior to data collection

  • High-quality replication studies, including both successful and failed replications

  • Methodological and statistical contributions that advance research design or analytical practice in psychology

  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses conducted in accordance with PRISMA or equivalent reporting standards

H0 Journal does not evaluate manuscripts on the basis of whether results are statistically significant, novel, or confirmatory. Effect size, directionality, and p-values are reported transparently—they are not criteria for acceptance.
